Step Three:

Clean your device.

This might seem like the most basic of concepts but if not done properly, you can reduce the value of your device by exposing it to liquids.

To clean your phone, you need the following basic supplies:

  • A soft microfiber cloth
  • A gadget-safe cleaner, such as a non-ammonia glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol
  • Compressed air

First, remove any screen protectors, skins or cases you have on your device.

Apply a small amount of cleaner to your cloth and gently buff the screen and casing of your device until they look as new as possible. While cleaning with liquids, make sure you avoid the headphone jack, charging port and nano SIM card port of your device.

Using the compressed air, blow out the headphone jack and the charging port to blow out any dust found in these areas.

Your device is now ready for the next part of the process.
