Evolve Review

evolve

“Evolve” is a Multiplayer (Singleplayer also) Alien Hunting First-Person Shooter Game developed by Turtle Rock Studios. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 10, 2015.

Turtle Rock Studios – the creator of Counter Strike Series, Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead Series always hit the Game Industry with ever new concepts, smooth and fleek graphics. “Evolve” basically uses “Cryengine” which gives awesome Kick Ass graphics and the asymmetric storyline just makes the game worth-playing.

Story:

evolveEvolve is established on “Shear” – a distant planet located in the “Far Arm” of space, that Humans has explored to in the far future. These colonies which are thought of the most important things in this region of space are soon charged by Alien Monsters showing a wish to do evil to others. As the Monsters destroy the colonies on “Shear”, a former planet docile named “William Cabot” is brought out of retirement to deal with this human demolishing ultimatum, in order to shift the remaining colonists from Shear. As a next step, Cabot assembles a team of 4 Hunters—consisting of war veterans, psychopaths, professionals, and expendables—to eliminate the Monsters, setting the main dispute of Evolve.

Gameplay:

In the Multiplayer mode, four player-controlled Hunters are given a task to play against one Alien Monster which is controlled by a 5th player.evolve Hunters have the primary objective to kill the Monster while the Monster must either kill all of the 4 Hunters as this is his primary objective or destroy the Humans Resources such as Power Plants or Human Base as a secondary objective.

In the Single player mode, even only one player-controlled Hunter can play — via help of computer-controlled Hunters — against Monster.

The Environment is awesome mainly focused on Jungle Areas and Industrial Units which also provide shelter to Hunters while their journey. There are various abilities and power ups for both Hunters and Monster. The Hunters’ team is always made up of one player from each of four evolveclasses: a Trapper, a Support, a Medic, and an Assault Class. Each class will contain a variety of different Hunters with different abilities and play-styles. The Monster player can also be able to choose from a variety of monsters; so far, only five of these monsters have been revealed, including “Goliath”, “Kraken”, “Wraith” within the game and “Behemoth” & “TBA” when you buy the “Monster Race DLC”.

Hunters cover their journey while saving colonists, killing wildlife creatures or reaching up to Monster. Monsters evolve while killing people and tiny alien creatures and goes through the different stages — a level up type of thing. While the Monster is evolving, it can be brought to death as it becomes vulnerable during that specific time.

Game Modes:

Hunt:

In the Hunt Mode, Hunters must kill the Stage 3 – Monster before it destroys the Power Relay as located on the Map.

Nest:

The Nest Mode is the Mind Boggling one – Six Monster Eggs are located at random areas on the map. Monster Player must protect the eggs for duration of 18 Minutes. Monster player also get support by getting a chance to hatch one of them eggs and then Bang! a Little Monster comes out for her assistance. Hunters must kill all the Six Eggs and Minions wandering.

Rescue:

Rescue mode is my favorite one as in this mode, Injured Colonists are placed at random locations. Hunters must save them and help them to get rid of Monsters, while Monsters have to kill them and stop them from getting away. The Match ends when either one of them respectively saves or kills the first 5 colonists.

Defend:

In the Defend Mode, a player-controlled fully evolved Monster and small Goliath Minions attack on the Starships` Refueling Station. Hunters must save the Power Generators until the ship is fully charged while the Monsters have to destroy two power generators to get access to the Ships` Power Source.

Death Match:

Both the Hunter and Monster are trapped in a Dome and they have to kill one another. Once the Round is completed and New Round will be initiated in a different location.
