Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN is loaded with new improvements to the Guilty Gear series of fighting games. This particular title features a classic two dimensional design with a superimposed background inspired by the western world and the far east. The year 2187 marks the era in the plot of this fighting game that fuses elements of classic battles with futuristic features. A traditional health meter is displayed on top of the screen to show the amount of damage that each fighter has sustained in real time. The fighting includes martial arts moves as well as the use of handheld tools such as swords and clubs. The frantic fights are enhanced with magical powers that are used to boost the attacks with weapons. An adrenalin pumping soundtrack featuring hard rock music enhances the overall game play of Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN.
