Though The Sims 4 hasn’t been announced for consoles yet, one can bet on it being ported over eventually, given the success of The Sims 3 on consoles.  EA announced this game will be released for the PC late this year and if its like we saw with Sims 3, it should be ported by the holiday season next year.  Expanding on The Sims 3, Sims 4 promises more customization for your sims, emotions and a variety of other features.  It also appears that EA has learned from their Sim City mess by not requiring you be online to play Sims 4.

As a new strategy game that is free-to-play, Total War: Arena is highly anticipated by PC gamers all over.  Previous Total War games haven’t been free to play so this is likely to be a draw to those who like fighting simulation games with a PVP/Arena element to them.   Not many details have been released, other than the game will be online multiplayer mixing RTS and MOBA gameplay.

El Presidente returns in the fifth installment of Tropico.  Featuring co-operative and competitive multiplayer styles of play, you can work with or against up to three of your friends, building cities on the same map.  Other than these small changes, you can expect refinements to the games core systems, but we won’t see it for next gen consoles.  We expect to see this title releasing around the end of 2014, as no earlier date has been provided.

When one plays The Witness, you can expect non linear game play, unusual puzzles and little instruction.  However, as far as the game goes, it does what it sets out to do – challenge the player.  As you navigate the beautiful scenery, you come across puzzles, each becoming progressively harder than the last.  As an indi title, we expect this one to be an arcade release only, and look forward to seeing more about it as its launch time gets closer.

The final and sixth game of the Professor Layton series, Azran Legacy ties up the mysteries from previous games and ends the series on a great note, as you solve over 500 puzzles, a strong narrative and another well done presentation.  Over the course of the Professor Layton series, we’ve been introduced to a game that kids and adults alike can enjoy.  Expected at the end of February, Layton fans will be sad to see him go but pleased with how it ends.
