After two very successful Witcher games in which we followed the adventures of Geralt through hundreds of quests, now we get the opportunity to, once more, control the fabled characters as we explore the unique, stunning world created by CD Project Red in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.
The story continues right after the second game ended, and it revolves around Geralt trying to find Ciri and battle the Wild Hunt in the process. The Witcher 3’s story is not only fun, but also it has a ton of twists and turns which you are going to enjoy.
When it comes to combat, I was impressed to see that the game has a revamped attack and defense scheme that seamlessly integrates with the witcher signs in order to create a cohesive combat phase. It’s great to watch and very efficient, but the main stars are the enemies which gather in groups, create their own attack schemes, so sometimes even when you battle a single enemy you will face quite a lot of challenge.
Speaking of them, the enemies are rendered at a very high quality and you are definitely going to enjoy every aspect that they provide. Creature types are varied and fun to explore and the other characters as a whole are very appealing from a visual perspective.
The major star in The Witcher 3 is definitely the stunning game world, which is not only very good-looking, but also diverse and filled with exploration options. You get mountain passes, swamps, rivers (which you can traverse via a boat or swim through them), as well as massive citadels and a ton of other cool stuff. All of these add up in order to create a cohesive, fun and exciting game world for you to explore.
The more open world design that you can find now in the game works great, providing a lot of value as a whole, and the quests take full advantage of it. Aside from the main quest which is very long and which does take up to 50 hours as a whole, I was impressed by the large amount of side quests that can be found roughly anywhere in the game world.
Exploring the world is fun and leveling is very easy, however you do need to craft potions as often as possible because health won’t regenerate. Being able to traverse the game world via horse is very helpful, considering that the title is just massive to begin with. Other stuff such as the dynamic day and night system, the stunning monster powers, realistic AI and the beard growth system add up in order to create a cohesive, fun and very impressive game in which there is a ton of opportunities for you to explore.
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is the best open world game I played recently, and that includes Skyrim, because not only improves on the mistakes of the latter, but it also adds up a new set of unique features that you will surely enjoy. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is a fun game, with a lot of content. It manages to provide exactly what the RPG lovers want, which is a great story, good character development and just a ton of fun as you explore the wide range of possibilities offered here. If you are a fan of role-play games, then this is a game that you shouldn’t miss, and even if you have the slightest interest in pursuing an epic adventure, then this game will definitely quench your thirst.
