just cause 3Just Cause 3 decides to make a distinct departure from the typical serious undertones of first person shooters. While games with guns, explosions and fighting typically have at least a little bit of a serious background, Just Cause leaves that behind in favor of some humor and distraction. Rico comes home to the island where he was born, Medici, and has an open world at his fingertips.just cause 3 You get dropped in (it appears) in the start of the game in the middle of Medici and the surrounding 3 islands with the open world at your fingertips. The immediate impression that we get from this game is that is more of well…everything.

You’ll notice a modest visual upgrade for the environments, characters and vehicles but maybe not quite what next-gen gamers were expecting. That’s not to say that it’s in any way bad, the game looks gorgeous. But that being said, you can probably look at other games in the same category and see where Just Cause 3 could have gone a bit farther.

just cause 3Where this game could not have not gone farther is the amount of stuff that was included. More cars, more grapples lines, more planes even. There are ways to attach vehicles to each other, put webs between buildings and detonate them with C4, the list goes on. So while missions will still exist in this game in the most basic respect, there are so many distractions on the way to mission markers that you may not actually make it there. Not to say that this is a bad thing, but hooking a trailer up to a fighterjust cause 3 jet and setting is loose is funny, which is in stark contrast to the brutal storyline of battle present in Just Cause 3’s main quest.

The best part is that when things crash, explode and destroy themselves. The physics engine that has been programmed in here is simply magnificent. It’s realistic for the most part, but with plenty of fair. Not everything fall apart to pieces but it’s just cause 3close to it. Somehow after doing this over and over again, it’s still immensely satisfying. This is essential as you’d get tired of the game pretty quickly if this weren’t the case.

There are plenty of things to get involved in during your time with Just Cause 3. You’ll get caught in fire fights, destroy military installations and take Rico through the air from place to place. The campaign ends up being a pleasant distraction to the carnage you create on your own and it feels like a breath of fresh air. The world is just believable enough to make the whole game work, even amidst the epic destruction and sprawling fights that erupt constantly. It’s all in good fun and it would be shame to sit this one out.
